Is Necessaire Body Products Worth the Price Tag?

You might have heard of the body care line, Necessaire. I hear about it all the time on Instagram and once I looked into it when it first came out and was like, “Who would pay this much for a body wash and lotion?”

But it makes sense if you take so much time, care, and effort on your face skin, why wouldn’t you put that much time, care, and effort into your body skin.

Our skin is our largest organ and what you put on your skin soaks into your body so being mindful of what you are putting on it is probably a good idea.

My First Necessaire Experience

I went to Sephora and decided to pick up the lotion when I was on vacation because I was looking for a good lotion for pregnancy.

I haven’t been super cautious about “All Natural” products since I’ve been pregnant, but I wanted something nourishing for my belly. I tried some belly oils, hated them, and regular lotion wasn’t cutting it. And I didn’t want super thick creams that are hard to spread but was looking for something super moisturizing.

The lotion is light but really nice. I didn’t really notice a difference until I used it consistently for at least 3 days. And I really noticed when my husband noticed how soft my legs were.

**Granted, I did just shave with my Billie Razor (check out that honest review here) and added the lotion hours prior when he said this.

I since bought the body serum, more lotion, and I got a travel size of the exfoliator and body wash.

My favorite product is the body serum. Next, the lotion, body wash, then exfoliator.

In short, I think the body serum is DEFINITELY worth it! Especially if you have dry skin, live in a drier climate, and get tight/itchy skin on the reg.

Necessaire Fragrance Options

All of their products come with a fragrance-free ‘scent’ which is great for people with sensitive skin. Honestly, depending on the ingredients of the fragrance, we should ALL avoid them, but sometimes we need a good scent to keep us going, ya know?

Also, fragrance-free is perfect because if you wear perfume you don’t have to worry about smelling too strong or mixing smells that don’t go together.

Or if you are just sensitive to scents, you don’t have to worry about hating it only because of the smell. That is the WORST! when you love the product overall but can’t wear it or use it because of the smell.

The body wash and body exfoliator come in fragrance-free, eucalypts, sandalwood, and bergamot. The deodorant only comes in fragrance-free, eucalyptus, and sandalwood. Everything else only comes in fragrance-free.

Necessaire Products I’ve Tried

Below are the 4 products I have tried from Necessaire with a breakdown of the top ingredients, benefits, and price.

necessaire body products

Necessaire Body Lotion

The body lotion is rich in Niacinamide (Vitamin B3 – Moisturizes), Vitamin C (Protects), Vitamin E (Protects), Omega-6, and Omega-9 to moisturize and nourish.

This product specifically is fragrance-free, pH-balanced, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing. It has a cream-like consistency and is lightweight.

No matter where you get it, the cost is $25.

Necessaire Body Serum

The body serum contains Hyaluronic Acid (Hydration), Niacinamide (Vitamin B3 – Moisturizes), and Ceramide NP (prevents moisture loss) to hydrate and soften the skin.

It has a fragrance-free, dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic formula. It has a gel-like texture and sinks into your skin really fast.

The price is $45.

**On the Necessaire website, you sometimes can get the lotion and body serum in a bundle for $55 for the full-size products. Separately, it would be $70.

–Sometimes influencers also have a code you can stack on top of this $55 price. That is what I did.

Necessaire Body Wash

The body wash is a formula that is pH optimized and designed for sensitive skin. It gently cleanses the skin without stripping or leaving residue while niacinamide supports the skin’s surface.

Niacinamide is designed to cleanse, nourish, and balance the skin. It has a gel consistency and is great for all skin types.

You can buy it for $25.

Necessaire Body Exfoliator

The body exfoliator is a gentle AHA/BHA trio of glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acids help to remove dead skin cells and renew skin’s appearance, while bamboo charcoal leaves skin feeling soft.

It is a physical and chemical exfoliator, has a gel texture and you can massage it into the skin to get a foam texture.

The exfoliator is $30.

Necessaire Ingredient Breakdown & Benefits

Hyaluronic acid

You’ve probably heard that your skin need hydration AND moisture to look youthful. You might even have a hyaluronic acid serum in your skincare routine, but what about for your body?

Finding a hyaluronic Acid body lotion is extremely rare and a hyaluronic acid body serum? Good luck. However, Necessaire has one and it’s amazing!

Hyaluronic acid is a humectant which binds to water to help the skin retain water.

**Keep in mind when you are applying hyalurolic acid, if you don’t have water in your skin, it won’t work. Make sure you apply when skin is a little damp to help it do it’s magic.

To lock in that water, you need to add a moisturizer over top.

hydration versus moisture

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has been talked about more and more recently because of it’s amazing benefits.

It’s a form of Vitamin B-3 and is anti-inflammitory which can help soothe the skin.

Niacinamide helps to further lock in moisture and restore your first layer of skin aka lipid barrier by building up protiens in the skin.

One again, it’s really hard to find body products with niacinamide in them.

AHA/BHA, Glycolic, & Lactic Acid

These acids are all chemical exfoliators which help to gently remove the outer most layer of skin to reveal fresh, polished skin.

They aren’t harsh and are great for maintaining soft skin and to remove any hyperpigmentation, keep pores clean, and more.

**Make sure after you use any acids that you apply sunscreen if it is in the morning to prevent sun damage.

Where To Buy Necessaire

I have bought my Necessaire products from Sephora and the Necessaire website. You can also find it at Nordstrom.

If you buy it from Sephora, you can get cashback by utilizing the Rakuten Chrome Extension (which I totally recommend). You can also use Honey to find promo codes and you get points towards free products if you are a Sephora Insider.

You can also purchase it on the website. If an influencer promotes it with a code, it will have to be purchased through the Necessaire website. They do have better bundles on the site and sometimes you can get free samples of their other products. That’s what happened to me.

ALSO, the Fall Sephora Sale is coming up Nov 5-15 where you can get a good discount on the product. Stack that with the Rakuten cash back you can save even more!

In conclusion

Overall, I do like the products. I hate to say it but I do.

Even though they are pricier than I normally spend on body products (ie I usually get my body wash from the Dollar Tree), I do think they deliver what they claim.

If you want to take care of your body’s skin, have a luxurious shower experience, I would give these products a try.

Have you tried Necessaire? Would you spend this much on body products?
